Service Introduction
Due to the relatively small molecular weight of oligopeptides or haptens, they often fail to provoke an adequate immune response during immunization. To enhance the immune response, carrier proteins such as Keyhole Limpet Hemocyanin (KLH), Bovine Serum Albumin (BSA), and Ovalbumin (OVA) are commonly used. Additionally, labeled peptides or haptens are used to purify antibodies from serum.
Through using cross-linking agents, polypeptides or haptens are covalently coupled with the amino, carboxyl, or sulfhydryl groups in the carrier protein. This stable connection facilitates subsequent experiments.
