Sumo Protease is a prokaryotic expression product of ULP1 protease of Saccharomyces cerevisiae. It is able to specifically recognize the ubiquitin-like protein (Sumo) of Saccharomyces cerevisiae and cleaves between the Sumo tag and the fusion protein. Sumo Protease recognizes the tertiary structure of the Sumo tag and is therefore highly specific. Sumo protease shears efficiently at a wide range of temperatures and at pH 7-9, and can tolerate a certain concentration of inhibitory components such as imidazole, EDTA, urea, SDS, etc. It is easy to use and can be digested in various buffers. It has a His tag, which can be conveniently removed after digestion. It is also worth noting that the Sumo protein expression system of Saccharomyces cerevisiae origin is one of the most well-known systems for promoting prokaryotic soluble expression, far superior to systems such as Ubiquitin, GST, MBP, and TRX.
